You’re Exposed! Hide Your Emails from Hackers

Do you know what hackers love? Email addresses. They love email addresses like I love a gorgeous powder day in the Colorado Rocky Mountains during ski season. The LOVE them. Why? Because, if hackers can get your organization’s emails, they can use them to launch social engineering, spear phishing and ransomware attacks on your organization. This type of attack is very hard to defend against (unless your users get new-school security awareness training).
Here’s how it works:
- The cybercriminal does a “deep search” for email addresses of your organization on the Internet
- They find all publicly available email addresses of your employees
- They use those emails to launch a phishing attack on as many of your employees as possible
Think about it: if they have access to your email address, and they send an email to the rest of the firm “from you,” they could cause a lot of damage! The more of your firm’s email addresses that are exposed, the bigger your attack footprint and the higher the risk.
