You’re Exposed! Hide Your Emails from Hackers

By Doug Striker, CEO, Savvy Training & Consulting

Do you know what hackers love? Email addresses. They love email addresses like I love a gorgeous powder day in the Colorado Rocky Mountains during ski season. The LOVE them. Why? Because, if hackers can get your organization’s emails, they can use them to launch social engineering, spear phishing and ransomware attacks on your organization. This type of attack is very hard to defend against (unless your users get new-school security awareness training).

Here’s how it works:

  • The cybercriminal does a “deep search” for email addresses of your organization on the Internet
  • They find all publicly available email addresses of your employees
  • They use those emails to launch a phishing attack on as many of your employees as possible

Think about it: if they have access to your email address, and they send an email to the rest of the firm “from you,” they could cause a lot of damage! The more of your firm’s email addresses that are exposed, the bigger your attack footprint and the higher the risk.

But how can you possibly know if your law firm’s email addresses are exposed? (I mean, the whole idea of an email address is that people use it to conduct work!)

As a partner with KnowBe4, the world’s most popular integrated Security Awareness Training and Simulated Phishing platform, I can help you prepare for and prevent the attacks that will undoubtedly come your way. In fact, I can provide you with a free Email Exposure Check. This is a one-time service and you will receive a report containing the list of exposed addresses and where we found them within two business days.

Interested? Call me or email me at: 303-800-5408 or I can help you discover how exposed your firm is, and then I’ll help you tackle the solution to the issues you discover!
