CLE Event Encourages Attorneys to Become Tech Savvy

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is hosting an ethics CLE titled “Uphold Your Firm’s Professional Duty to be Tech Savvy” on October 25 from 12:00-1:30 p.m., led by Doug Striker of Savvy Training & Consulting. Columbus-area attorneys are encouraged to register for the event, as well as law firm technology professionals. Attorney participants will receive a free ethics credit. The American Bar Association (ABA) recently adopted a change to the Model Rules of Professional Conduct to clarify that lawyers have a duty to be competent not only in the law and its practice but also in technology. The October 25 training will outline a step-by-step process for creating a learning culture in law firms. The event will cover topics on how to integrate a culture of technology in law firms, including how to:

  • Get buy-in from management
  • Form a technology committee
  • Administer individualized assessments
  • Increase attorney participation
  • Create customized training, and
  • Offer certifications or other competitive incentives.
