Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Subscriptions: Help from Savvy

Did you know that Adobe is starting to push the subscription model for Acrobat? This is good for you in several ways:

  • You don’t have to invest heavily in buying the product.
  • You are always using the newest version of the software.
  • You always have quick access to support.
  • You can bundle Acrobat with other Adobe applications for much cheaper than you’d pay to purchase all of them.

This all makes great sense, right? But what if you work in a law firm and you love using that old version of Adobe Acrobat that you’ve been using since the dawn of Acrobat? Well, there might be a few (or more than a few) new things that you have to learn.

Lucky SavvyAcademy LMS clients already have all the answers to their questions! We’ve already released our entire courseware for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC! They have all the answers they need at the touch of a button to learn the latest tips and tricks for using Acrobat.

If you’ve spent more than five minutes with Acrobat DC, you’ve probably noticed that all open PDF files are displayed on separate tabs within the same window (much like a modern browser). If you don’t like the tabbed view, you can turn it off.

  1. Click on the Edit menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Select the General category.
  4. Uncheck Open documents as new tabs in the same window (requires restart).
  5. Click on OK.

As the option suggests, you need to close Acrobat and reopen it (you do not need to restart your computer).

Open multiple files and each will appear in a separate window.

If you decide you actually liked the tabbed view, repeat the steps and check the box!
